What I’m Reading

all about love-bell hooks⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

all about love’ is a carefully considered dissection of love as an idea as a concept, and as an action. bell hooks takes us on a journey that encourages us to ask ourselves “What is love really?”. I think everyone should take the time to immerse themselves in such a truthful and dynamic read.

What I’m Writing

Imagine a quiet, eerie night interrupted with a chill in the air, a crows, loud cries and thunder for flare

The grass wet with dew and fog all around you

I present you now with a dimly lit street

houses on both sides owned by elites

The inhabitants want for nothing their employees have two jobs

How can one community have so many snobs?

A gated town without any fear

for the poor has no room there

I imagine rooms filled with red bottom pumps

children that grow up without facial bumps

imagine cars for days and a living wage

that’s more than fair

yet most of us without such couldn’t imagine even being there

how most would beg to be paid what their owed

with money to spare yet most don’t have enough

anymore to own their own homes, or go to school without taking out loans

What’s it like to have everything you need automatically with a snap of your fingers systematically

how does it feel to look down while you watch others drown? It feels like euphoria I imagine to most social elites for them, and their family will never know what it’s like on the streets.

food all around them always something to eat

Fear doesn’t drown them for their in charge of everything

Nothing looks as bad as when you give the poor a crumb when you have a when you have a chef and their kitchen controlled by your thumb.

communities cry they wither in pain

While  the ones behind the gate, giggle without shame. ‘Look at all the poor people asking for help. If I sell them something they’ll make me big. I’m sure they forget all about the oppression they live in.’ I can hear them talking now meetings of control and mass distribution

this way of life is getting old, were in dire need of evolution.
